The Unicorn Buck
Shot with my 270 Remington rifle on 11/20/2013. That's me, on the left with my lifetime friend and Hunting Buddy, Kurt Caraher. We have 3 years of trail cam pics of him, 7 point then 8 point now a 10 point. He was either 4.5 or 5.5 years old. We decided, if given the opportunity, it was time to harvest him. His live weight was 250 pounds and dressed weight was 215 pounds. This is what is possible if you let the little ones walk. We control what gets shot on our small 98 acre property and, when we want meat, we shoot Does! It takes only 2 years to actually see the results. Kurt called him the "Unicorn Buck" because of the sticker point on his right burr. He will gross score in the 130's. It is really an awesome feeling when you harvest a true adult buck and have friends who appreciate it.
