Jersey Hill Giant

by Matthew Giroux
(Ithaca NY )

I shot the 8-point on Nov. 11, 2012 at 1:30 in the afternoon in Danby, NY (Tompkins County) from 22 yds with my PSE Vendetta. It was 70 degrees that day, didn't matter, he was in full rut. He dressed out at 170 lbs.

I also shot a 9-point on the third day of gun season right by my house. I call him the Black Oak Battler. He had a broken G-2 and a broken brow, a gash under his eye and on his neck from fighting. He also had been grazed in the hind quarter by another hunter. He came into my stand at 6:45 am on the morning of Nov 18th,2012. I stopped him at 30 yards and shot him with my Thompson Center muzzleloader. The pic doesnt do him justice. He is a huge deer. Dressed out at 180 lbs. Has a spread of 20 inches
