High Eight

by Justin Rayburn
(Bloomfield NY - Ontario County)

I saw this buck 75 yards away from my trees stand on my way in for the afternoon hunt. He was tending a doe and they bedded down 50 yards from my stand. After an hour or so they got up and started to move towards one of my shooting lanes. The buck got spooked and ran back into the thicket.

After another 20 minutes they both started heading back towards my shooting lane. I took the shot at 25 yards and recovered him the next morning.
