The Giarraputo Buck

By Mike Giarraputo

Giarraputo Buck

It was November 3, 2011, a perfect time for an all day hunt. At this time of the year a monster could come by at any time. At 2:10 in the afternoon I heard some leaves crunching behind me and turned and saw him.

After a few heart pounding minutes, as he passed through an opening, I stopped him and sent my arrow on it's way. The shot looked further back than I would have liked, so I waited two hours and found him 80 yards from my tree.

The Suffolk County buck has 23 points and scores 210-4 NT with three points broken off.
